Core Tube Stainless Steel 20", Requires Nose Piece

• Schedule 40 stainless steel pipe • Uniform threads and dimensions • Modular design Core tubes are the basic building blocks of the Wildco® line of core samplers. The shock of penetration is distributed to the body of the tube and not the threads by our design. They are threaded into the head assemblies using straight pipe threads. To connect properly, they must be turned until they bottom out and fit tightly in their seat in the head assembly. By the same token, the nosepiece must also be turned fully and fit snugly. All Wildco core tubes are made of Schedule 40 (2”) pipe for high consistency. Schedule 40 has the same outside dimensions and pipe threads around the world. It is thin yet heavy enough for threading. Straight pipe threads make it easy to attach head assemblies, extension handles and nosepieces. This type of thread system is secure, easy to twist together, and inexpensive. While the threads do get dirty and jam, washing in water usually removes the debris. The first 4-5 threads have been removed so they cannot be bumped or damaged, reducing the likelihood of jamming in the field. Core tubes are designed for use with liners and nose pieces for ease of sample retention. Lighter clear PVC tubes are available in large quantity for trace metal sampling, call for a quote.
